Ocean Areas: Buy Deeper Areas for Faster Voice Mining

The full guide to the 20 Ocean Areas in World 1: prices, bonus, how to choose a background, whether they are worth it and in what order to buy.

What Ocean Areas are

World 1 has twenty ocean areas, from the sunny Shallow Lagoon to the Heart of the Ocean. Each area is a new background for the game and a permanent bonus to your voice mining. You buy areas with coins on the Ocean Areas screen, which you can open from the More menu.

The area names are Shallow Lagoon, Coral Reef, Kelp Forest, Turtle Bay, Shipwreck Cove, Jellyfish Garden, Sunken Temple, Pearl Grotto, Twilight Zone, Whale Highway, Glowing Caves, Ancient Ruins, Volcano Vents, Crystal Caverns, Midnight Zone, Kraken's Lair, Abyssal Plains, Hydrothermal Garden, Mariana Trench and Heart of the Ocean.

Prices

The first area is free and you own it from the start. The second area costs 20,000 coins. Every next area costs about 1.55 times the one before it, so the prices climb steadily: area 3 costs 31,000, area 4 costs about 48,000, and so on, until the twentieth area, which costs about 53 million coins. You must buy the areas in order, so area 5 opens after area 4.

The exact price of each area is shown on its card. We may adjust prices to keep the game balanced.

All 20 areas: price and bonus

These are the prices at the time of writing. The bonus is the voice mining multiplier you get when this is the best area you own.

The bonus

The best area you own sets your voice mining bonus. Area 1 gives x1.00, area 20 gives x2.00, and every area between adds an equal step. For example, area 2 raises voice mining by about 5 percent, area 10 by about 47 percent, and area 20 doubles it.

The bonus stacks with everything else: your level, the Mining Rig, your Dolphin pet, your World speed, events and Turbo. Owning area 20 therefore doubles every spoken second you will ever mine from then on, in every World. Buying a lower area after a higher one gives no extra bonus, because only the best area counts.

Choosing a background

You can pick any area you own as the background of the game. Tap the card of an area you own to use it; the button at the top, "Use best", returns to the best area that you own. The background is only a look. It has no effect on the bonus.

Each area has its own colours and mood: warm corals, green kelp, golden temples, glowing caves, deep midnight blue. Choose what you enjoy.

Is an area worth buying?

Compare it with a Mine card. A card earns profit per hour while you are away. An area boosts every second you speak. If you mine with your voice every day, areas are excellent value, because the bonus is permanent. If you mine only a little, put coins into cards first.

A good rule is to buy the next area when it costs less than what you earn in a few hours, and when your cards are already growing. Early on, areas 2 to 5 are cheap and give a clear boost.

Areas and Worlds

Ocean Areas belong to World 1. From World 2 onwards the game hides the Ocean Areas screen, because the ocean is no longer your setting, but the bonus that you bought still applies to your voice mining in every World. If you use a Rebirth and return to World 1, your areas are waiting.

Your areas stay with your account. They are not lost when you move to another World.

Questions players ask

Can I buy areas out of order? No. Each area opens after the one before it.

Do I get a bonus for the background I choose? No. The bonus comes from the best area you own, whichever background you use.

Can I sell an area? No. Areas are permanent game items with no cash value.

Why can I not see the Ocean Areas in my World? They belong to World 1. The bonus keeps working.
