Pets, Base and Expeditions: Your Extra Income Engines
A guide to pets, the base buildings and expeditions in Lootbeez: what each pet boosts, what the buildings produce, how expeditions pay, and how they change in every World.
Three extra engines
Besides Mine cards and voice mining, the game has three more systems that give coins, pearls, crystals and boosts: pets, your base and expeditions. They are optional, but they add a lot over time, and they follow the World you are in: names and pictures change in each World, while the rules stay the same.
Pets
Every World has three pets. The first boosts your base production, the second boosts voice mining and the third boosts expedition loot. In World 1 these are the Turtle, the Dolphin and the Octopus; in World 2 they are a Fox, a Deer and an Owl; later Worlds bring camels, penguins, drakes, eagles, robo dogs and dragons, to name a few.
- Adopt a pet with coins. At the time of writing the first pet costs 50,000, the second 400,000 and the third 750,000 coins.
- Feed a pet to raise its level, up to level 10. Each level costs more than the last. You can pay with coins or with pearls (one pearl counts as 500 coins).
- The first pet adds 5 percent base production for each level, the second adds 2 percent voice mining for each level, and the third adds 5 percent expedition loot for each level.
Pets keep their levels when you move from World to World. Only their names and pictures change.
The base
Your base has three buildings. The first produces coins, the second pearls and the third crystals. In World 1 these are the Coral Farm, the Pearl Lab and the Crystal Mine; in World 2 a Wheat Farm, a Honey Lab and a Timber Mill; every World has its own set.
- Build a building with coins, then upgrade it up to level 10. Every level costs a larger share of the building's price.
- Production runs by the hour. A building stores up to eight hours of production; after that it stops until you collect. Tap Collect to take everything at once.
- The first pet increases base production by 5 percent for each level.
Check your base when you open the game, collect the production, and spend the coins, pearls and crystals. If you visit every few hours, you never waste storage.
Pearls and crystals
Pearls and crystals are extra resources. Pearls can feed pets in place of coins, at 500 coins per pearl. Crystals are rarer and are used for advanced features. They come from your base, from expeditions and from some rewards.
Expeditions
An expedition sends your explorer on a timed trip. You pay a small fee in coins and some energy, wait for the trip to end, then claim the loot: coins, sometimes diamonds and crystals, and XP.
- There are four trips of 1, 4, 8 and 12 hours. Longer trips cost more and give much more.
- You can run one trip at a time at first. As your expedition level grows, you unlock a second slot and later a third.
- Every finished expedition raises your expedition level. Each level adds 5 percent to the loot.
- The third pet adds even more to the loot.
- The last trip, the Legend Hunt, is the longest and gives the best loot.
Start long trips before you sleep and short ones when you are playing. A trip that is ready keeps its loot until you collect it.
The creature encyclopedia
As you explore, you discover creatures. Each World has its own encyclopedia with ten habitats, and each habitat has ten creatures, from common to legendary. Collect every creature of a habitat to claim a reward. In World 1 these are sea creatures; in World 2, forest animals; and so on.
What to do first
- Adopt the first pet when you can afford it. It is the cheapest and helps the base.
- Build the first building and collect often.
- Send a short expedition every time you play, and a long one before you sleep.
- Feed the pet that boosts what you do most: voice mining (second pet), base (first pet) or expeditions (third pet).
Questions players ask
Do pets, buildings and expeditions reset in a new World? No. Names and pictures change, your levels stay.
Does production stop while the game is closed? Buildings produce for up to eight hours, then wait for you to collect.
Can I lose a pet? No. A pet is permanent unless you delete your account or use a Rebirth, which tells you what is reset first.
